TiVo Inc., the creator of and a leader in advertising solutions and television services for digital video recorders (DVRs), announced that its Interactive Advertising Platform was presented with the Emmy Award for Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology.
" TiVo's interactive advertising features and custom advertising applications, such as Product Watch, Interactive Tags, and Program Placement, are prime examples of TiVo's ability to lead the industry in helping advertisers reach the fast forwarding consumer which increasingly defines advertising consumption in the household," said TiVo's CEO, Tom Rogers. "As we have continued to build out our advertising business, we have taken great strides to ensure that we continue to innovate and provide consumers with product and service information on their own time. We have proven that consumers will opt in to an advertising message if relevant and provided the ability to not miss their favorite shows. TiVo has successfully created a way for advertisers to reach viewers in an opt-in environment and we are proud to have our interactive advertising features receive recognition from the National Television Academy."
This year's Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards recognized seven categories, including nominations in the areas of interactive television, On Demand television, the Internet, and personal media display and presentation technology. Other finalists in the specific category of Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for Best Use by Commercials in Creation and Use in Non Traditional Platforms and Technologies included ABC.com's Full Episode Streaming Player and Ravenstoke by Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc.

The Technology & Engineering Emmy® Awards were presented at the opening evening event of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Monday, January 8, 2007. CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is currently being held in Las Vegas.
